Dear Mr. Phillips,

I am writing to thank you for teaching us how rockets work; helping us assemble them, and help us launch our rockets. I appreciate you taking your time and money to be with us.

I didn't know how complicated a building rocket could be. I thought it would just be the payload, the parachute, and the engine. I also didn't know that the rocket needed to go that fast. I didn't realize how the parachute came out, I thought it might use air pressure or something like that, not wadding. I'm interested in the way the wadding works.

I liked learning about the ignition of the rocket, even though the igniter stopped working for a while. I also liked finding the amount of cotton and packing peanuts to use. But the part that I liked the most was watching the rockets fly.

I would like to thank you once again for helping us with teaching us about rockets, the rocket launch, and everything in between.

Sincerely,

Maddux

Dear Mr. Philips,

On February 4, 2019, we came to your school, Arcadia high school, and helped us launch our rockets (I can't even imagine how long it took to launch all the rockets). Thank you so much for coming and teaching us about rockets. I really appreciate all the money you put into the rockets. I will never forget what you taught us.

When you came in, you taught me lots of important things about rockets, such as not putting too much glue on the rocket. Now that I know this, I won't superglue everything, I also learned to be very gentle with eggs. I had no idea that weight could affect how high a rocket goes! I would like to know how to measure how high a rocket goes.

I really liked learning about the science behind rockets. I also learned a lot when the control malfunctioned. I really liked building the rockets, and you were a big help.

I would like to thank you again for taking the time to teach us about rockets, I really enjoyed your persistence, and how you interacted with us and asked questions. You made an amazing teacher, and your speech was phenomenal. It was a great learning experience, and I hope you come again.

Sincerely,

Chelsea

Dear Mr. Phillips

I would like to say thank you for teaching my Hopi CGP Class how to build and launch rockets. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to do this.

I've learned a lot from this trip, I never knew that you could buy this type of rocket in stores, that's really cool. I also learned how small and big rockets can be, it can be 1 ft or 100 ft long. One thing I love learning about was the way the rocket ignited, it was smart how you need a key. The reason it's also interesting to me is because I might want to be a rocket scientist when I grow up.

All in all I enjoyed this trip a lot, but two things that really stood out were the way you measured the rockets height and the way the parachute deployed. Thank you so much for you being my rocket guide.

Sincerely

Bennett

Dear Mr.Phillips,

I am writing to you to thank you for teaching me and my class about how the rockets function. What really was important to me was how you spent your time and money on us.

There are many things that I learned on the unit but the one that I didn't know about was the angle mattered so much. But although that was very interesting, I didn't realize how much things can go wrong while launching a rocket. What I was confused about how you were so hesitant to go to the rocket but then you told us it is dangerous for you to just walk up to the rocket because it could still have a tiny spark and it could just blow up in your face. Though you explained the process very well I was wondering how many rocket launches you have done.

I really liked how you were so safe while launching the rockets. But what was very interesting was how you knew so much about rockets it was like watching a master at work. What I really liked was how you were teaching us about how the rockets work while it was launching.

It was very fun to make rockets and see the rockets launch. The whole unit was fun in general. Thanks again for spending your valuable time with us.

Sincerely

Jaxson

Dear Mr. Phillips,

Thank you for coming to teach us about rockets. It was very kind to come.

I wanted to tell you things I learned. One thing I learned was how engines work. I also learned about rocket flight and how the fins help a rocket fly. One other thing I learned was to build the rocket.

I have a few questions. What made you get into rocket science? How did the parachute come out of the rocket? What was the highest any of those rockets went?

Thank you again for coming to Hopi. I had lots of fun.

Sincerely,

Connor
