The Launch of Shooting Stars with Astronaut SHAL

by Sara, Lila, Hannah, and Alessia
Dec 2014

SARA

On December 9, 2014 we launched our rocket. Our astronaut SHAL was freaking out! He was hoping that he would make it our alive. After he heard the word "ignition" all we heard was uncontrollable screaming. "Shooting Stars" went 51 degrees high (135.3 m, 405.9 ft). Then a horrible thing happened. The parachute didn't come out!  SHAL was hurdling toward earth in the non-parachuted rocket. Shooting Stars hurt SHAL and he was only 47 years old, hoping to go to the moon and Mars. He is now resting in the hospital peacefully. The launch was unsuccessful. I am glad that our rocket went high, but I am unhappy that the parachute did not come out.

ALESSIA

The parphute mishap

"On December 9th our astronaut SHAL was nevresly getting ready to blast off to space and watching his other friends launching of on the count of 5,4,3,2,1 blast off! His poor stomic dropped every time his friend launched MANLY because they landed in trees, playgrounds, and nose down in the ground!it was his turn,he herd 5,4,3,2,1and there he was gliing up in the air until 51ft.off the ground!then he was exited to visit his grandma and tell him it was encreadible and the rocket went faster and faster until he realized the parachute isn't opening"

SHAL was hurt!

The parachute of the shooting stars didn't open and before we new it SHAL was in the rocket that was laying on the ground,I was the last one to run over, I picked up SHAL and The Shooting Star and it,was terrible but He DIDNT die,it was a merical!Yet SHAL was cracked in half he got rushed to the hospital he is ok he went home!

Our parachute didn't open yet it was amazing to see and SHAL was ok! Pray for shal!

HANNAH

As we loaded the astronaut into the rocket we cushioned cotton balls and tissue paper around him. I had to pack S.H.A.L in to the payload so he would survive and not die. The weight of the astronaut/quil egg was 11.5 pounds and the weight of the packing materials was three grams. Are mission specialist did an amazing job building the rocket and we had clear sky's for our launch. Unfortunately our parachute did not open and S.H.A.L died. We will remember him to this day. Thanks again the the amazing rocket man for giving S.H.A.L a unforgettable flight.

LILA

When I was building the rocket as a flight engineer I had to read he directions very carefully. We had to make a great rocket so our astronaut could survive. I also had to know the parts to be able to put them together. The rocket couldn't have that much glue so we had to be careful about the amount we put on. If the rocket ended up to heavy it wouldn't launch but thankfully our mission specialists had it all under control . We took a safe flight and it went very high but the parachute unfortunately did not open. S.H.A.L (Sara,Hannah,Alessia,Lila)our astronaut did not land successfully and died.It didn't land safely it just crashed into the ground.
